Still thinking of the perfect gift for the special woman in your life this Mother’s Day? Flowers, jewellery and chocolates are fine– we even bet she loved that photo frame you made for her last year!

We, at Meat on the Beach, would like to remind you of one thing: Love comes from the heart, but passes through the stomach.

This Mother’s Day, kick-start her morning with a breakfast in bed that says “I love you” like no other gift.

That being said, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of menu creation. We have chosen eggs as our base because of their nutritious properties. Here are three Mother’s Day breakfast in bed ideas:

1. Simple and Classy

For the mother with a sophisticated taste, try this understated combination:

  • Cloud-like scrambled eggs on a fresh croissant

  • A side of cheeses (your choice)

  • A tall glass of freshly squeezed orange juice

Here is your Meat on the Beach grocery list :

  • 1 tray of croissants

  • Cheeses (Try our selection: Camembert, Blue Cheese, Brie Cheese, etc.)

  • 4 Oranges

2. Veggie explosion

A true blast of colors and flavours, choose this option for the mother who loves a fresh, yet filling start to her day:

  • Spinach and tomato omelette

  • Her favourite smoothie (Meat on the Beach choice: a blend of Kale, Apples and Bananas makes the most delicious smoothie)

Here is your Meat on the Beach grocery list:

For the omelette:

  • 1 bunch of spinach

  • 2 tomatoes

For the smoothie:

  • 1 bunch kale

  • 1 Apples

  • 2 Bananas

3. Meat delight

We’ll let the name do the talking for this one. One thing is for sure, this one is a true treat:

  • 2 fried eggs topped off with chives and coriander

  • Side of sausages, ham and/or bacon

  • Top it off with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes

Here is your Meat on the Beach grocery list:

For the egg toppings:

  • 1 bunch green onions

  • 1 bunch coriander

  • Sausages

  • Ham

  • Bacon

Other sides:

  • Mushrooms

  • Tomatoes

This Mother’s Day, you cannot go wrong with any one of these three breakfast in bed ideas. But what’s important to take away from this is… know your audience! Treat your mom to something that she only has once in a while and would like to have more often if she could. And remember that when it’s homemade, it’s made with love.
